Famous for their incredible torque, our V MAX engines also show a quiet side: we have harmonised all the inertial mass components and added large rubber engine mounts for a whole new level of smooth!

The use of lightweight, mounting brackets, power trim and tilt mechanism and composite body parts – with a state-of-the-art compact engine layout, means the new V MAX SHO 115hp transforms the feel, handling and performance of any boat.

DOHC design with four valves per cylinder

The V MAX SHO 115hp features Yamaha’s advanced 1.8-litre, four-cylinder, fourstroke engine, with 16-valves and doubleoverhead cam (DOHC) layout. Put simply, the result is better breathing – for better combustion and performance across the power spectrum. The V MAX SHO 115hp powerhead design is based on Yamaha’s proven four-stroke technology, so quiet reliability is assured

Lighter weight pays dividends

Yamaha’s engineering team has been
focusing on reducing weight – not only by reducing all unnecessary metal on the engine, but also by developing a lighter lower pan and cowling in composite materials, a single-ram power trim and tilt mechanism and a lighter mounting bracket

Variable Trolling RPM (option)

Trolling speed adjustment from 550-1,000 RPM in 50 RPM increments. Ideal for shing or when navigating waterways, marinas or speed limit areas. Trolling speed can be set to 200 RPM below idle speed. This function is only available when the engine is equipped with Yamaha’s Multi-Function Tiller Handle, the 6Y8 or CL5/7 digital display or the new remote switch.
